Surviving R. Kelly...Or Still Slaved?

You had to have known that I did not intend on this being my first topic for the year...I mean...I'm so behind. I had no clue of this show!  But...Why not?  At first, it was the sex book that was released (I guess that wasn't enough though huh...*sigh*) ... I wasn't too impressed.  I write about sex all the time. *shrug* And if any of my books circulated on social media like this book did - I tell you, I'd be a couple dollars better off.  And I've been there.  I mean my other book series started off with a filthy sex scene.  Needless to say, it was not only a reflection of the perversion in me but *hmm* dare I say my readers as well?  But that is neither here nor there.

Then, I'm on social media really in my bored moments on this debut night..and everyone is talking about this R. Kelly docu-series! I'm like...REALLY?!  Well, maybe not everyone but probably 95% of my timeline was - with all types of judgments being placed.  From the women that condemned the mothers for not being protectors over their little girls, to people saying that the hush money is gone so now they're speaking up...I mean.  I didn't really even have to watch the flippin' show to know what went on.  Isn't that social media for ya?! *Sigh* (Or maybe I need a new set of friends on my timeline...again, neither here nor there.)

But still, neither of the previous paragraphs are a reason for this blog to be honest.  First, I had plenty of subjects and a schedule to revamp this thing because I definitely know that that's what I'm supposed to be doing.  This blogging thing gets a little hard only when you're not consistent.  So this year, beginning with this blog, of course my goal is to deliver consistent relevant content and what could be more relevant than this R. Kelly series and my own new books?

Exaclty.  So that's the purpose.  Obviously, I won't go into too much detail on either book but I'll begin with the first one.  "Sexually Wise."  This book was inspired to help men - men like who R. Kelly has been alleged to be, men like the ones I've been engaged with, men in my family, men that were friends and shoots...yeah men that you know, love and trust.  So many times we judge men for their shortcomings rather than acknowledging the root of their weaknesses and trying to help them.  Sexually Wise is a short read designed to give hope and wisdom from the Word on how many can identify their sexual drives for what they are, as well as identify the root to the sexual struggles they may deal with.  If all of these things are true, I ask - where were these people with help for "R. Kelly's" of the world?  Where was his help?!  NO, we loved him and glorified all of his baby making music and turned our eyes blind every single time an allegation was headlined.  We looked at him and his life as pure entertainment when the man obviously was dealing with a very perverted lifestyle; a lifestyle that obviously wasn't probably what he signed up.  Which brings me to my next book: "Sexual Skeletons - The Gift of Generational Curses."

I've read the interviews of R. Kelly sharing his story about being molested by an older female in his family, as was his brother.  Should it surprise you that these demons that may have pressed upon him in his youth, wouldn't yield a harvest of more demonic attachment?  This is not only molestation but incest.  In Sexual Skeletons I share my own experiences with incest, as well as my battles with a few other sexual perversions.  I also share an in depth study of how the sins of the father affect the sins of the children - and with sex?  The consequences of sexual sin visit the children to the tenth generation.  Yet, I'm sure when R. Kelly finally found peace in disclosing such shame - he still wasn't given compassionate attention.  Do we know right from wrong?  Yes.  Do I support molestation, abuse, rape, and etc. No!  But the fact remains and the question I continue to ask: Out of all of the viewers of this show - How many looked at these people as humans and went into prayer?  How many have prayed...like sincerely prayed for R. Kelly?  How many have prayed for his deliverance and for him to have a healing encounter with God?  Or do we really just believe that he did what he did by chance? I think not.

Our culture is sex driven but in a perverted way and very unhealthy way!  I don't mean this in a bad way and I know some will probably be very offended but I had to wonder - what is inside of so many people that drove them to be so engulfed in that filth?  What inside of our hearts, minds and spirits gravitated so much so to these women who were defiled as they claim they were?  Why do we want to know so much about R. Kelly's sex life?  That should make us take a few long, hard looks in the mirror.   Other's pain and suffering is more entertainment than it should be.  From my vision - you now have a slew of women who are dealing with those sexual demons (soul ties) that R. Kelly dealt with.  Let's not even begin to talk about all of the women that were legally involved in sexual relations with him as well.  But...They say that they are free, empowered and have overcome - how?  I guess it depends on your definition of such.    But here's the thing about spiritual legality - when a demonic entity has a right to operate in a person's life through willful sin and agreement - it wrecks havoc in our lives.  These are not things that you overcome just because you are no longer under physical bondage.  For me, if I'm free - I don't want to talk about it and relive it.  I mean...Honestly, the only reason R. Kelly's issue is so "bad" is because he's in the spotlight.  If he wasn't "R. Kelly", would these women have a television spotlight and most importantly - how would they really empower women?!

Aside from that, again the only reason R. Kelly's issue is so "bad" is because he. is. in. the. spotlight....what "Sexual Skeletons" are in your closet?  What perversion is in your family that just isn't exposed because you're not a superstar?  As he said before, "You better be careful what you do to me cause it might turn around on you."  (Oh! I wasn't always this on fire for God and I can call out a number of songs I enjoyed from him - most of them in sexual sin! But that's neither here nor there either!)  And don't get me wrong - I want healing and wholeness for these women.  By no means am I blaming victims because wrong is wrong.  But seriously, if a massive revival like revolution is not about to happen to acknowledge the obvious exploitation of children in the music industry, then seriously, what is the purpose?  Maybe I missed the point.  I just want to know...How do these stories, this series, truly "help" us?

I could say a lot more on that, but I'll stop here.  Up above are links that can be found right here on my page for access to those books! I have two fresh testimonies from these books this week too! AND, there's currently a three book offer: #aCall2Purity, Sexually Wise, and Sexual Skeletons all for $20.00.  Order your set here.
